Pippa Cherry grows beautiful flowers that are not only for us, but for the bees too.
Tucked away in a remote and stunning part of South-West Cornwall, you will find Zennor, and Pippa herself. Zennor Wild flowers are all grown on the farm, which has been in her family for generations, right back to Granny Flora..
What did you have for breakfast?
Buckwheat pancakes with strawberries and cashew butter.
Tell us about Zennor Wild?
I set up Zennor Wild because I love how happy flowers are, and I want everyone to be able to have happy, seasonal flowers that are fresh and natural and not flown in from miles away. I hate flowers that look clean and clinical. I also wanted to work doing something outside that I enjoyed.
When did you start growing your own flowers?
I planted most of them in late spring as it was too cold until then. They began flowering in early June so I have been snipping them ever since!
What is your latest ZW project?
Hen parties and baby showers! Making things out of flowers such as button holes and head crowns is so fun and easy, I want to teach everyone!
What does the future smell like for ZW?
Hopefully it smells like more and more fields of flowers. I want to grow more and learn more, hopefully supplying unusal places and events.
Where would you love to visit?
Covent Garden Flower Market is top on my list, and also the Lost Gardens of Heligan for my next day trip out somewhere.
Who do you admire?
Anyone that is doing something for themselves and breaking out of the 9-5, I love how many people are making and selling their own crafts.
What are you currently saving your pennies for?
I am a bit of a online shopping addict and I am very bad at saving, but I would like to get away to New Zealand in January whilst nothing is growing much at home. I also am saving for next springs seeds and bulbs.
Favourite Soup?
One where you throw everything in a pan and it ends up tasting amazing even though you have no idea what you put in
Favourite condiment?
Mustard ( wholegrain )
Any last words?
I don’t actually know how to grow flowers, I just sprinkled seeds and waited to see what grew.
