Located in the newly refurbished Union Arches, Bala Baya boasts a chic industrial interior with a steel mezzanine dining floor, rising elegantly in this imposing brick building and providing a canopy for the open plan kitchen below.
Eran Tibi has created an inspirational menu and the Chefs, working behind a silver, serpent like counter, create such delights as Harissa and Maple cured Salmon and Slow cooked short rib of Beef served of the bone with poached figs.
The real highlights for me are the veg dishes. I loved the Cauliflower Crumble with syrup and yoghurt and you should not leave here without trying the Aubergine Mess!
Opening as a bakery in the mornings and serving cocktails into the late evening Bala Baya is a true taste of Tel Aviv in London.
