Brunch: Whatever the weather, there’s no greater way to start the weekend than a bloody Mary and smashed avocado with poached eggs on toast. It’s perfectly acceptable for it to last anything from two to four hours, drink Prosecco before 12, and order as many dishes as you want making it arguably the most creative and exciting meal of the day.
We have rounded up a few of our favourite brunch spots…
.
The Swan
Combining classic French cooking with seasonal British produce, a modern British breakfast menu and views overlooking the River Thames, this is the perfect spot for a relaxing brunch. Choose from homemade muesli with coconut yogurt and Bermondsey honey; the Arbroath Smokie with a poached egg and grilled asparagus; Smashed Avocado with poached eggs, coriander and chili; or the Swan’s signature Breakfast Brioche Bun with Cumberland sausage. Don’t miss their Green Machine Smoothies or for something a little stronger, go for the Swan Spritz.
Breakfast available weekdays from 8am to 11:30am and weekends from 10am to midday and brunch dishes are available on weekends from 11am until 3pm.

Finish with Bala Baya’s signature babka served with Arak poached apricots and creme anglaise. Oh and sip on their delicious Prosecco Gazozini cocktails.

Duck & Waffle Local
Inspired by the Duck & Waffle Restaurant and it’s 24-hour breakfast spread, Duck & Waffle Local is the second venture but by no means second best. Using products from the best sources, this duck driven restaurant brings a range of delicious breakfast and brunch dishes to the West End. As well as their signature dish of waffles with confit duck leg, topped with fried duck eggs and mustard maple syrup, the menu includes the duck burger with crispy duck leg, crushed noodles, miso mayo and spiced ‘slaw; duck merguez flatbreads and a selection of ‘little duck’ small plates – think fried duck gizzards, duck jam doughnut, and foie gras crème brûlée. Or if you’re after something sweet the Full Elvis is not to be missed… A hot waffle or cone filled copious amounts of Peanut butter, strawberry jam, Chantilly cream, vanilla ice cream, peanut brittle and a handful of berries. Sip on their Duck & Stormy or Breakfast Fizz.
Brunch available every day from 8am to midday.
