You’ve heard of Slim Aarons, right? Everyone’s heard of Slim Aarons. The 1950s, 60s, 70s photographer that captured that Palm Springs poolside glamour and hazy French Riviera gossip.
In another life I would have been born into the early 1960’s world of Slim Aarons. I’m certain of it. You’d find me reclined on a sun-lounger deep in the French Riviera, I’d spend my mornings diving from yachts (ever so gracefully) into the sparkling Med and come the afternoon you’d find me pool-side sipping on Martinis. Most crucially, with a suitable wardrobe in tow (including a swim cap and tennis outfit).
Of course, in this ‘other life’ I’d bring along my partner and children, happily. Which means three more wardrobes. For him: Think classic golf attire and a selection of frighteningly small Speedo’s. And for them (my kids): Mini me versions of everything. They’d be cutest little 1960 nuggets around, naturally.
Now to translate this colourful, classic and sun-soaked world into a round up of children’s wear…
