FOR: All the basket lovers out there (we know there are hoards of you!)
THE LOW-DOWN: It’s no secret that we love our interiors, so when we heard about the opportunity to make our very own basket from English bulrush, let’s just say we were VERY interested. To celebrate the traditional craft of rush weaving, British Standard and Felicity Irons, founder of Rushmatters, are joining forces to teach you how to do just this.
You’ll be twining, coiling, plaiting and knotting, before discussing techniques over lunch and hearing all about the history and traditions of the craft itself – which remains unchanged since the Anglo-Saxon times! We think it’s high time to get involved.
WHEN: Friday 10th May, 10am-5pm
WHERE: Hoxton
