We really love the Ivy Collection, so jumped at the opportunity to review one of their newest brasseries.
The Ivy’s brave decision to expand the brand outside of town brought me, on a crisp November evening, to Royal Tunbridge Wells. Comfortably tucked into the pretty High street, a stones throw from the Pantiles. The familiar olive facade gives way to the beautifully lit, Deco interior we have come to expect.
The Ivy describes its brasseries as ‘casual yet polished’, which sums up The Ivy Royal Tunbridge Wells. A flawless team of professionals unpretentiously serve modern British classics and elegant cocktails. The prowess in the kitchen ever apparent and each dish as beautiful as it is simple. Drawing inspiration from its location, the décor subtly hints at the Kent countryside but this is unmistakably The Ivy.
An instant hit with the locals, the place was full by 8 o’clock and this was mid week! Open for breakfast every day and not closing until half past midnight, this is a very usable eatery, but where one is always reminded of its special heritage.
