Fact 1: Your kids are cute. Fact 2: They would probably look even cuter dressed in a Bubble Bonnet. And Fact 3: The cute factor is off the scale when they’re twinning with their teddy (or koala).
The Scandinavian knitwear label is all about combining traditional Danish knitting techniques with a modern twist and a gorgeous colour palette.
Handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal, by a Fair Trade women’s collective of around 200 knitters, each Shirley Bredal piece combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Nothing is computerised or mechanical – the only machine used is an old-fashioned pedal sewing machine. This is what we call utterly scrumptious craftsmanship.
“We have some special ladies who were finding it difficult to knit some of the larger pieces, so we came up with the idea for our Koala dolls and the mini collection appeared. We now have a full range of mini outfits, that you can match with your child’s Shirley Bredal outfit, which is beyond wonderful as it meant 10 more ladies could join us.” – Shirley Bredal
